Skylar Franke is a local leader in London’s environmental sector and over the past five years she has supported a wide variety of environmental projects and programs in the city. Skylar Franke is the current Executive Director at the London Environmental Network and has previously worked for ReForest London. She has overseen the growth of the London Environmental Network which now operates multiple programs including capacity building for the environmental sector and Green Economy London which helps local businesses set and achieve sustainability goals.
She graduated in 2013 from King’s University College at Western University with an honours B.A. in Social Justice and Peace Studies and French Studies. She also has a Certificate in Professional Leadership from Western Continuing Studies and is a Certified Environmental Professional.
Skylar has been awarded King’s Young Alumni (2019), Top 20 in their 20’s by Business London (2018) and Leading Women, Leading Girls Award (2018). Skylar is the Vice President for the Urban League (which is a registered charity/umbrella organization that includes over 40 neighbourhood associations and community organizations). She has sat on many City of London committees including the Agricultural Advisory Committee, Urban Agriculture Committee and the Waste Management Community Liaison Committee.
Skylar recently started the Coves Community Association with her partner to meet more of her neighbours. She is happiest when talking to new people and eating good food with friends and family. Skylar is passionate about building community, environmental advocacy, local food systems, great wine and ethical coffee.
