Michael Courey is the Director of the London Poverty Research Centre and adjunct faculty member in the Department of Sociology at King’s University College in London Ontario. He specializes in the areas of urban sociology, community organizing, and program evaluation. An active member of the London community through various engagements with citizen groups Michael is passionate about bridging the space between academia and community organizing focusing on knowledge mobilization and community-based action research approaches. His most recent work involves leading the Inclusive Economy London network, a collective impact project integrating community economic development with poverty reduction and sustainability outcomes.
